This is the account of Shem, Ham and Japheth, Noah`s sons, who themselves had sons after the flood.
Genesis 10:1
0. An excellent choice
Let me tell you a true story that happened in the UK.
There once was an old man without relatives or children.
He was weak and had a lot of sickness, so he decided to spend the rest of his life in a nursing home.
So he took out an advertisement in a local newspaper to sell the house he lived in.
His house was actually really great, so it quickly gained lots of interest, and many people wanted to buy it. In fact, it was so popular that a bidding war broke out for those who were interested in the house.
This led to the house price rising from £60,000 to £100,000, and house price just continued to rise after that. But in reality, the old man was not happy at all to think about leaving his old house.
One day, a young man in shabby clothes came to the old man and knelt down in front of him.
This young man had made a different choice than all the others in order to get this house.
The young man said, “I really want to buy this house, sir, but I only have ten thousand pounds.”
The old man answered firmly, “Young man, this house is worth at least £60,000.”
The young man said, “But sir, if you sell the house to me, I’ll let you live here as you used to, and I’ll make you a cup of tea every morning while I read you the newspaper. Then, I’ll take you out for a walk in the afternoon and we will enjoy every day together.”
The young man’s eyes looked sincere, and the old man who heard them smiled brightly.
Eventually, he sold the house to the young man for £10,000.
So you see,
Intense competition or deception are not necessarily required in order to achieve your dream.
Unlike the other bidders on the house, the young man made an excellent choice and got a happy result.
So the question for us today is:
What is the best choice we can make today in order to live well in the world?
The answer: “to obey God, our master”.
God is the guide, companion, and savior of our lives.
Today, I will share Genesis Chapter 10 with the title “choose your God!”
1. The fate of the people
Genesis 10:1
This is the account of Shem, Ham and Japheth, Noah`s sons, who themselves had sons after the flood.
Genesis 10 describes the account of Shem, Ham and Japheth.
But we need to look at Genesis 9 to understand the fate of each nation that arose from these men.
Genesis 9:18~27
18 The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.)
19 These were the three sons of Noah, and from them came the people who were scattered over the earth.
20 Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard.
21 When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent.
22 Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father`s nakedness and told his two brothers outside.
23 But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father`s nakedness. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father`s nakedness.
24 When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him,
25 he said, “Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers.”
26 He also said, “Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem! May Canaan be the slave of Shem.
27 May God extend the territory of Japheth; may Japheth live in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be his slave.”
So what is the point of this story?
In this story, the natural tendencies of Noah’s sons are revealed through their father’s mistake, which is described as a natural incident rather than a godly person’s mistake.
In the shameful situation where Noah drunkenly falls asleep naked, the Bible story places more emphasis on what his son’s obligations to him are.
While his father was sprawled naked on the floor of the tent, Ham loudly called attention to him to make fun of him, but Shem and Japheth quietly covered their father’s naked form.
The interesting thing about this situation is that you can observe the fate of each forthcoming nation through this episode in this family.
Shem’s descendants will form the nation of Israel, and Ham’s will form the nation of Canaan.
Later, the Canaanites will give up their land to Israel and they will also work as slaves for Israel.
It is not clear who Japheth’s descendants are exactly, but we can see that his descendants are connected with Shem’s in the nation of Israel.
The actions of Noah’s sons are not just about their moral obligations to their father, but about obedience to the Word of God.
Exodus 20:12
12 “Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
Proverb 30:17
17 “The eye that mocks a father, that scorns obedience to a mother, will be pecked out by the ravens of the valley, will be eaten by the vultures.
We can see through these Bible words that it is God’s command to honor our parents.
Ham, who did not obey God, loudly revealed his father’s shame to the whole world.
But Shem and Japheth, in obedience to God, quietly covered their father’s shame.
And Ham’s descendants were cursed forever because of this single act.
Ham may have thought this was unfair. But actually, we must question whether Ham’s curse was the result of a single act of disobedience or a lifestyle of disobedience.
In fact, our lifestyles determine our behavior. The result of a lifestyle of obedience is good behavior, and the result of a lifestyle of disobedience is evil behavior.
Shem and Japheth’s good behavior toward their father would have been the result of their continued obedience to God. And likewise, Ham’s evil behavior toward his father would have been the result of his continued disobedience to God.
2. Intimate fellowship with God
More specifically, obedience is “a close relationship with God.”
Shem and Japheth would have tried to listen to God.
Also, they would have tried to talk to God through prayer like their father, Noah.
But Ham probably had become increasingly lazy about listening to God and praying to God.
This can be assumed by his actions toward his father.
Additionally, we must consider the curse he received because a curse is not quickly spoken and God’s curse does not come to a person who obeys God.
Rather, those who obey God are greatly blessed by God.
One interesting thing to note is a descendant of Ham named ‘Nimrod’.
Genesis 10:8~9
8 Cush was the father of Nimrod, who grew to be a mighty warrior on the earth.
9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; that is why it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD.”
Nimrod had great strength to hunt and fight the beasts of the earth.
“Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the LORD.”
This expression seems positive at first glance, but it is actually just a neutral statement about his great power.
In reality, Nimrod is considered the first tyrannical monarch and founder of the Babylonian and Asshur empires.
These empires later appear as great forces that confront Israel, which God has chosen.
What is interesting is that Nimrod, a descendant of Ham, made a reputation for himself in the world, but did not use his power for God.
Consider the descendants of Cain mentioned in Genesis 4.
Cain’s descendants were people with outstanding worldly abilities, unlike Seth’s descendants.
Their ancestor, Cain, can be said to be the father of all cultures.
However, this cultural development in Genesis 4 begins with Cain’s murder of his brother.
A Commentary from the German Biblical Council notes that people who have become more and more distant from God have created their own kind of culture. New and further cultural development is a tendency of mankind to establish their own human status in the world and carry out their own will without a thought of God.
Lamech is a prime example of this.
Genesis 4:23~24
23 Lamech said to his wives, “Adah and Zillah, listen to me; wives of Lamech, hear my words. I have killed a man for wounding me, a young man for injuring me.
24 If Cain is avenged seven times, then Lamech seventy-seven times.”
God gave Cain a mark to protect him.
However, his descendant, Lamech, completely bypassed the will and consent of God in order to take his own revenge by his own power.
Through these stories, we can see that Cain and Ham have something in common: they are not intimate with God and the result of this is passed on to their descendants.
From this, we can learn that
The present reality of one’s faith will become the reality of faith for their descendants.
When we estrange our fellowship with God, we will soon become disobedient to God.
That would make us, like Ham, wrong and suffer a bad end.
So, What do we need to do to be intimate with God?
Thankfully, there are some precious ways God has given us to do this.
First, Let’s read the bible and pray daily!
Second, Let’s worship together and volunteer for church on Sunday!
These activities sometimes seem to be just repetitive acts.
But these are clear pathways through which we can remember God and stay more intimate with him. Because God is especially precious to the heart of a person who tries to get close to him.
3. Choose your God
What is the basis for us to obey God?
Joshua 24:15
15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”
The people of Israel lived by thinking that they were the people of God.
However, Joshua intentionally urges Israel to make a decision to choose their god.
The reason is that when people become too familiar with the seemingly repetitive nature of worship, prayer, and Bible reading, they become dull in spirit and their passion for God disappears.
Consider it like this: The world regards Christianity as a religion.
So they can choose or reject the religion they want, like college students who choose liberal arts classes.
Does it mean that a religious life chooses God?
Or that a normal life doesn’t choose God?
No!
Technically, Christianity is not a religion but a truth because God is the master of the whole world.
So not choosing God is not choosing a “normal life” but choosing a life that is not obedient to him, because any life that ignores God, the truth, and chooses his or her own desires and the culture of the world is not obedient to God.
There is no compromise in serving God.
There is no middle ground before God.
We must live with God’s commands as the highest value.
Unfortunately, Noah’s second son, Ham, did not seem to know this.
He just wanted to live a “normal life.”
But his choice made him increasingly unable to find God in his life.
In the end, his “normal life” without God was revealed as a life that was disobedient to God and embarrassed his father.
The most blessed aspect of life for humans is to accompany God.
Psalm 23:1
1 A psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
Going together with God grants us a peaceful life in which we do not lack anything.
Remember!
The most blessed aspect of life for humans is to find God, our master.
4. The way to God
What motivates us to get close to God?
Isaiah 53:6
6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
Unfortunately, according to this word from Isaiah, we can not find any inherent motivation in us to draw near to God. Rather, we only want to go the way we want. The reason for this is that we are all sinners.
Our evil natures separate us from God.
Our nature struggles to live without God.
We have no will and power to obey God.
Therefore, God sent his Son Jesus Christ to us to solve this problem!
He was God himself!
God the Creator has the power to decide on everything he has created.
So if the creator makes a judgment or curses his creation, it is not strange at all.
But God chose to die for us, to save his creation, we mortal men and women.
Think about whether this is a natural thing for the creator to sacrifice himself for his creation.
It is a very difficult thing to understand.
And this is exactly why people refer to the hardships and death of Jesus Christ as “Amazing Grace.”
God sent us not only Jesus, but also the Holy Spirit.
with the help of the Holy Spirit, he has made it possible for us to have an intimate relationship with God.
All we have to do is believe in Jesus as our personal savior and Lord and engage in an intimate relationship with God through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer, Bible reading, worship, and service are the cornerstone practices for doing this.
But don’t try to force yourself to do these things.
We cannot do them all through our own willpower.
Leave these up to God!
He will move you!

25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man`s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man`s strength.
I hope you will be a wise child of the Lord who chooses God first in your life and lives a life of obedience to him!

0. 탁월한 선택
이것은 영국에서 일어난 실제 이야기입니다.
친척도 자식도 없는 한 노인이 있었습니다.
그는 몸이 허약하고 병치레가 잦아서 남은 인생을 요양원에서 보내기로 마음먹었습니다.
그래서 그는 그가 살고 있는 집을 팔기 위해, 지역 신문에 광고하였습니다.
그의 집은 아주 훌륭했기 때문에, 그 집을 사고 싶은 사람들이 많았습니다.
사람들은 그 집을 얻기 위한 선택으로 가격 경쟁을 하였습니다.
이로 인해, 6만 파운드였던 집 값이 10만 파운드로 올라갔고, 그 이후에도 집 값은 계속 올라갔습니다.
하지만 노인은 오래 살던 집을 떠나야 한다는 생각에 전혀 기쁘지 않았습니다.
그러던 어느 날, 남루한 차림의 한 청년이 노인에게 찾아와 무릎을 꿇고 말했습니다.
이 청년은 이 집을 얻기 위해 다른 사람들과는 다른 선택을 하였습니다.
청년 : “어르신, 전 정말 이 집을 사고 싶습니다. 하지만 제가 가지고 있는 돈은 1만 파운드 밖에 되지 않습니다.”
노인은 단호하게 대답했습니다.
노인 : “젊은이, 이 집은 최소 6만 파운드라네”
젊은이가 말했습니다.
젊은이 : “만일 어르신이 집을 제게 파신다면, 제가 어르신을 예전처럼 여기에서 살수 있게 해드리겠습니다. 제가 차도 끓여드리고 신문도 읽어드릴게요. 또 같이 산책도 하면서 날마다 즐겁게 지낼 수 있도록 해드릴게요”
젊은이의 눈빛은 진실 했고, 그 말을 들은 노인은 환하게 미소를 지었습니다.
결국 노인은 1만 파운드를 받고 그 집을 젊은이에게 팔았습니다.
꿈을 이루기 위해서 반드시 치열한 경쟁이나 속임수가 필요한 것은 아닙니다.
이야기에 나오는 청년은 다른 사람들과 달리 탁월한 선택을 하였고, 기쁜 결과를 얻었습니다.
세상에서 잘 살기 위한 가장 탁월한 선택은 무엇일까요?
그것은 “나의 주인이신 하나님께 순종하는 것” 입니다.
하나님이 우리의 인생의 안내자, 동행자, 구원자이기 때문입니다.
오늘은 <너는 하나님을 택하라!>라는 제목으로, 창세기 10장의 말씀을 나누도록 하겠습니다.
1. 민족들의 운명
창세기 10장 1절
노아의 아들 셈과 함과 야벳의 족보는 이러하니라 홍수 후에 그들이 아들들을 낳았으니
창세기 10장은 셈, 함, 야벳의 족보에 대해서 서술합니다.
우리는 각 민족들의 운명을 이해하기 위해, 창세기 9장을 살펴볼 필요가 있습니다.
창세기 9장 18~27절
18 방주에서 나온 노아의 아들들은 셈과 함과 야벳이며 함은 가나안의 아버지라
19 노아의 이 세 아들로부터 사람들이 온 땅에 퍼지니라
20 노아가 농사를 시작하여 포도나무를 심었더니
21 포도주를 마시고 취하여 그 장막 안에서 벌거벗은지라
22 가나안의 아버지 함이 그의 아버지의 하체를 보고 밖으로 나가서 그의 두 형제에게 알리매
23 셈과 야벳이 옷을 가져다가 자기들의 어깨에 메고 뒷걸음쳐 들어가서 그들의 아버지의 하체를 덮었으며 그들이 얼굴을 돌이키고 그들의 아버지의 하체를 보지 아니하였더라
24 노아가 술이 깨어 그의 작은 아들이 자기에게 행한 일을 알고
25 이에 이르되 가나안은 저주를 받아 그의 형제의 종들의 종이 되기를 원하노라 하고
26 또 이르되 셈의 하나님 여호와를 찬송하리로다 가나안은 셈의 종이 되고
27 하나님이 야벳을 창대하게 하사 셈의 장막에 거하게 하시고 가나안은 그의 종이 되게 하시기를 원하노라 하였더라
이 이야기의 핵심은 무엇일까요?
그것은 한 경건한 사람의 실수라기보다는, 하나의 자연스런 과정으로 묘사된 노아의 실수로 인해 드러나게 되는 세 아들들의 본성입니다.
아버지, 노아가 나체로 자고있는 부끄러운 상황에서, 아들의 의무가 무엇인지를 성경은 주목하고 있는 것입니다.
함은 아버지의 수치를 드러냈고, 셈과 야벳은 아버지의 수치를 가렸습니다.
흥미로운 사실은 이 한 가족의 에피소드를 통해 민족들의 운명을 볼 수 있다는 것입니다.
여기서 셈은 이스라엘을, 함은 가나안을 대표합니다.
훗날 가나안 주민은 이스라엘에게 땅을 양보해야 합니다.
또한 그들은 부분적으로 이스라엘을 위하여 강제 노동을 하게 됩니다.
야벳이 누구의 조상인지에 대해서는 뚜렷하지 않습니다.
노아의 아들들의 행동은 단순한 도덕적 의무가 아닌, 하나님의 말씀에 대한 순종에 관한 것입니다.
출애굽기 20장 12절
12 네 부모를 공경하라 그리하면 네 하나님 여호와가 네게 준 땅에서 네 생명이 길리라
잠언 30장 17절
17 아비를 조롱하며 어미 순종하기를 싫어하는 자의 눈은 골짜기의 까마귀에게 쪼이고 독수리 새끼에게 먹히리라
우리는 이 성경 말씀들을 통해 부모를 공경하는 것은 하나님의 명령이라는 것을 알 수 있습니다.
하나님께 순종하지 않은 함은 그의 아버지의 수치를 온 세상에 드러냈습니다.
하나님께 순종했던 셈과 야벳은 그의 아버지의 수치를 가렸습니다.
함의 단 한번의 행동 때문에 그의 후손들이 저주를 받게 되었습니다.
이 사실이 함에게는 억울할 수도 있습니다.
그러나 순종의 결과는 선한 행동으로, 불순종의 결과는 악한 행동으로 나타납니다.
아버지를 향한 셈과 야벳의 선한 행동은, 하나님을 향한 그들의 지속적인 순종에서 나타난 결과 일 것입니다.
2. 하나님과의 교제
순종을 좀 더 구체적으로 말한다면 “하나님과 친밀한 교제”입니다.
셈과 야벳은 하나님의 말씀을 듣기 위해 노력하였을 것입니다.
또 그들은 기도를 통해 하나님과 대화하려고 노력하였을 것입니다.
마치 그들의 아버지 ‘노아’ 처럼 말입니다.
그러나 함은 하나님 말씀을 듣는 것, 하나님께 기도하는 것에 대해 점점 게을러 졌을 것입니다.
이는 함이 그의 아버지에게 한 행동과 그 행동을 통해 저주를 받게 되는 것을 통해 추측해 볼 수 있습니다.
하나님께 순종하는 사람에게 하나님의 저주가 임하지 않기 때문입니다.
오히려 순종하는 이들에게는 하나님의 넘치는 은혜가 임합니다.
한 가지 흥미로운 것은 함의 자손, ‘니므롯’ 입니다.
창세기 10장 8~9절
8 구스가 또 니므롯을 낳았으니 그는 세상에 첫 용사라
9 그가 여호와 앞에서 용감한 사냥꾼이 되었으므로 속담에 이르기를 아무는 여호와 앞에 니므롯 같이 용감한 사냥꾼이로다 하더라
니므롯은 맹수와 싸울 정도로 자신의 대단함 힘을 가지고 있었습니다.
“여호와 앞에 용감한 사냥꾼”이란 표현은 언뜻 보면 긍정적으로 보이지만, 사실은 좋고 나쁨의 평가 없이, 그의 힘이 대단하다는 것을 나타내는 것입니다.
오히려 니므롯은 최초의 전제군주이자 제국의 창건자로 여겨집니다.
바벨론이나 앗수르 제국은 그로부터 시작됩니다.
이 제국들은 훗날 하나님이 선택하신 이스라엘 백성과 대립하는 세력으로 나타납니다.
세상에서 명성을 떨치던 니므롯이지만, 그의 힘을 하나님을 위해 사용하지 않았다는 것과, 그가 함의 후손이라는 것이 흥미롭습니다.
창세기 4장에서 언급되었던 가인의 자손들을 생각해 봅시다.
가인의 자손들은 셋의 자손들과 달리 뛰어난 능력을 가진 사람들이었습니다.
그들의 조상인 가인은 가히 ‘온갖 문화의 아버지’라 말할 수 있습니다.
그러나 창세기 4장에 나타난 이러한 문화 발달은 가인의 형제 살인을 시작으로 진행됩니다.
곧 사람은 하나님에게서 점점 멀어져 가면서 그들만의 문화를 만들어 갔다는 것이 독일성서공회의 해설입니다.
문화 발달은 세상에서 하나님 없이 자기 지위를 지키며 자기 뜻을 사정 없이 관철하려는 인간적인 노력이라는 성향을 지닙니다.
그 대표적인 인물이 라멕입니다.
창세기 4:23~24
23 라멕이 아내들에게 이르되 아다와 씰라여 내 목소리를 들으라 라멕의 아내들이여 내 말을 들으라 나의 상처로 말미암아 내가 사람을 죽였고 나의 상함으로 말미암아 소년을 죽였도다
24 가인을 위하여는 벌이 칠 배일진대 라멕을 위하여는 벌이 칠십칠 배이리로다 하였더라
라멕은 하나님이 가인을 위해 주신 보호의 표의 허용량을 훨씬 뛰어넘어, 스스로의 힘으로 자신의 복수를 하였습니다.
가인과 함의 공통점은 하나님과 친밀하지 않았다는 것입니다.
이러한 영향은 그들의 후손에게 그대로 전해집니다.
현재 나의 신앙의 모습이 훗날 나의 후손들의 신앙의 모습이 된다는 것입니다.
우리가 하나님과의 교제가 소원해지면, 우리는 금방 하나님께 불순종하게 될 것입니다.
그렇게 되면 우리가 함과 같이 잘못된 판단을 하여, 안 좋은 결말을 맺게 되는 것입니다.
우리가 하나님과 친밀하게 지내기 위해서 무엇을 해야 할까요?
감사하게도 하나님이 현재 우리에게 주신 소중한 방법들이 있습니다.
평일에는 성경읽기와 기도하기를 실천합시다!
주일에는 예배참석과 하나님의 성전을 위해 교회 봉사를 실천합시다!
이러한 활동들이 때로는 그저 반복적인 행위 인 것 같이 보입니다.
그러나 이것들은 내가 하나님을 기억하고 더욱 친밀하게 지낼 수 있는 통로인 것은 분명합니다.
하나님께 가까이 가고자 애쓰는 사람의 마음을, 하나님은 특별히 귀하게 여기시기 때문입니다.
3. 너는 하나님을 택하라!
우리가 하나님께 순종해야 하는 근거는 무엇일까요?
여호수아 24:15
만일 여호와를 섬기는 것이 너희에게 좋지 않게 보이거든 너희 조상들이 강 저쪽에서 섬기던 신들이든지 또는 너희가 거주하는 땅에 있는 아모리 족속의 신들이든지 너희가 섬길 자를 오늘 택하라 오직 나와 내 집은 여호와를 섬기겠노라 하니
이스라엘 백성은 스스로 하나님의 백성이라고 생각하며 살아갔습니다.
그러나 여호수아는 의도적으로 이스라엘에게 그들의 신을 선택하라는 결단을 촉구합니다.
그 이유는 사람이 익숙해 지면 무디어지고, 하나님께 대한 열정이 사라지기 때문입니다.
세상 사람들은 기독교를 하나의 종교로 여깁니다.
그래서 그들은 마치 교양 선택하는 대학생처럼, 자신이 원하는 종교를 선택하거나 또는 거부합니다.
하나님을 선택하는 것은 종교적인 삶일까요?
하나님을 선택하지 않는 것은 일반적인 보통의 삶일까요?
그렇지 않습니다!
엄밀히 말해 기독교는 종교가 아닌 진리이기 때문입니다.
하나님이 온 세상의 주인이기 때문입니다.
그래서 하나님을 선택하지 않는 것은 평범한 삶이 아닌 순종하지 않는 삶 입니다.
그 삶은 진리이신 하나님을 외면하고 자신의 욕망과 세상의 문화를 선택하는 삶이기 때문입니다.
하나님을 섬기는 것에 타협이란 있을 수 없습니다.
하나님 앞에서 중간 지대는 없습니다.
우리는 하나님의 명령을 최고의 가치로 두고 살아야 하는 것입니다.
안타깝게도 노아의 둘째 아들, 함은 이 사실을 알지 못했던 것 같습니다.
그는 그저 평범한 삶을 살고 싶었을 뿐입니다.
그러나 그러한 그의 선택은 그의 삶에서 점점 하나님을 찾지 않게 만들었습니다.
결국 하나님 없는 평범한 삶은 불순종의 삶으로 나타나 그가 그의 아버지를 부끄럽게 하였습니다.
사람에게 가장 자연스러운 삶의 모습은 하나님과 동행하는 것입니다.
“여호와는 나의 목자시니 내게 부족함이 없으리로다” (시편23:1)
하나님과 동행은 우리에게 부족함이 없는 평안한 삶입니다.
기억하십시요!
사람에게 가장 당연한 삶의 모습은, 우리의 주인이신 하나님을 찾는 것입니다.
4. 하나님께로 가는 길
우리가 하나님께 가까이 가기 위해 어떤 동기를 찾을 수 있을까요?
이사야 53:6
6 우리는 다 양 같아서 그릇 행하여 각기 제 길로 갔거늘 여호와께서는 우리 모두의 죄악을 그에게 담당시키셨도다
안타깝게도 이 말씀에 따르면 우리에게는 하나님께로 가야할 어떤 동기도 찾을 수 없습니다.
오히려 우리는 우리가 바라는 길로 가기 만을 원합니다.
그 이유는 우리가 죄인이기 때문입니다.
우리의 악한 본성은 하나님과 멀어지게 만듭니다.
우리의 본성은 하나님 없이 살고 싶어서 몸부림 칩니다.
우리에게는 하나님께 순종할 의지와 능력이 없습니다.
하나님께서 이를 해결하고자 우리에게 보내주신분이 바로 예수 그리스도입니다.
그는 하나님 자신이었습니다.
창조자이신 하나님은 그가 만드신 모든 것에 대해 결정할 수 있는 권한을 가지고 계십니다.
그러므로 창조자가 피조물에 대해 심판을 내리거나 저주를 하여도 그것은 전혀 이상한 것이 아닙니다.
그러나 하나님은 피조물인 사람들을 구원하기 위해, 스스로 죽는 방법을 선택하셨습니다.
창조자가 피조물을 위해 희생하는 것이 당연한 것인지 생각해 보십시요.
이것은 좀처럼 이해하기 힘든 것입니다.
그래서 예수그리스도의 고난과 죽음에 대해, 사람들은 알 수 없는 놀라운 은혜라고 말합니다.
하나님께서는 예수님 뿐만이 아니라, 보혜사 성령님을 우리에게 보내주셨습니다.
그래서 성령님의 도움으로 우리가 하나님과 친밀한 관계를 맺을 수 있도록 해주셨습니다.
우리가 해야할 일은 예수님을 나의 구원자로 믿고, 우리에게 보내주신 성령님을 통해 하나님과 친밀하게 교제하는 것입니다.
이에 대한 실천은 기도와 말씀, 예배드리기와 봉사입니다.
그러나 이것들을 억지로 하려고 노력하지 마십시요.
사람의 의지로는 할 수 없습니다.
이것들을 하나님께 맡기십시요.
하나님이 당신을 움직일 것입니다.
고린도전서 1:25
25 하나님의 어리석음이 사람보다 지혜롭고 하나님의 약하심이 사람보다 강하니라
하나님을 가장 먼저 선택하는 지혜로운 주님의 자녀 되길 소망합니다!
