Day 8
Monday, October 19

Leviticus 2-15

The Holy God

1. Pray

Let us always be awake in the faith and pray earnestly, and let us enjoy the blessings of seeking His kingdom and His righteousness while understanding God’s will and providence.

2. Key verses

  • Leviticus 11:45I am the Lord, who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.”

3. Scripture Reading

Leviticus 2-15

4. Reflection

A holy life is the first thing that is demanded of God’s people because in order to be with a holy God, we must have a common denominator, a holy life. ‘Holy’ is ‘kadosh‘ in Hebrew, and its etymological meaning means ‘differentiated’ or ‘set apart’. The general usage of the word ‘holy’ refers to a person or object that is specially distinguished for offering to God, but when applied to God himself, it refers to the creativity of God that is distinct from creation. So, ‘Holy God’ is another name for God the Creator.

5. Writing a spiritual journal

After reading today’s text, write down the will of God that you came to realize, the passage that moved you, or what you decided to do and how you want to put it into practice.

6. Check off today’s reading on the reading table
