Jesus is coming—surely, suddenly, and unexpectedly. In the parable of the ten virgins, only the wise were prepared with oil—symbolizing the Holy Spirit and true faith. We cannot borrow or obtain salvation last minute. Our personal relationship with Christ must be real and ready now. When He returns, the door will close. Are you ready?

The end will come when the gospel is preached to all nations. Evangelism is the mission of every believer—our most meaningful work on earth. Despite fear or lack of knowledge, we’re called to testify about Christ. We scatter the seed; God gives the growth. The gospel must go out. Then, and only then, Jesus will return.

Jesus warns of deception, disaster, persecution, and cold hearts in the last days. Though trouble surrounds us, God remains sovereign. True faith endures through tribulation—it is not destroyed, but revealed. Trials purify us, shaping us into Christ’s likeness. Stand firm, love deeply, and watch carefully. The end will come, but so will our salvation. God is always in control.

Jesus exposes the hypocrisy of religious leaders who valued appearance over sincerity, rules over mercy, and status over humility. The seven woes warn us to examine ourselves, not just others. True greatness is found in humility, sincerity, and love for truth. God desires repentance, not performance. Let us follow Christ with pure hearts, not whitewashed appearances.

God’s kingdom is a joyful banquet, graciously inviting all—both good and bad. Yet, not all who are invited enter, and not all who enter are prepared. True acceptance requires responding with a transformed life. Many are called, but few are chosen. Let us come joyfully, humbly, and clothed in Christ, ready to honor the King.

Jesus again foretells his suffering and death, showing true greatness through sacrifice. While his disciples seek honor, Jesus teaches that true greatness is found in humble service. He gave his life as a ransom for many, calling us to follow him not in power, but in love, service, and obedience—even through suffering. True discipleship means imitating Christ’s selfless example.

In this parable, Jesus shows God’s grace, compassion, and generosity. Regardless of when we come to Him, we are equally loved and accepted. True service isn’t driven by reward, but by joy in serving. God values the heart, not the hours. Many who seem first may be last, and the last—humbly serving—may be first in His kingdom.

A wealthy young man asked Jesus how to gain eternal life, but walked away sad when challenged to give up his riches. Jesus teaches that salvation is impossible by human effort but possible with God. True discipleship means surrendering all to follow Christ, trusting that God rewards those who forsake worldly security for eternal treasure and kingdom purpose.

Jesus affirms God’s original design for marriage as a lifelong union between one man and one woman. Though divorce was permitted due to human hard-heartedness, it was never God’s intention. Singleness, too, can be a calling from God. Whether married or single, our ultimate union is with Christ, our eternal bridegroom, who never lets us go.

Jesus calls us to forgive others from the heart, just as God has forgiven us. True forgiveness sets us free from the prison of bitterness and reflects God’s mercy. Like the unmerciful servant, when we withhold grace, we dishonor the grace we’ve received. Forgiveness isn’t optional—it’s the evidence of God’s forgiveness at work in us.

The heart of Christmas is Immanuel—“God with us.” Though unworthy, God came near through Jesus. Scripture reveals five dimensions of Immanuel, from God’s presence in all creation to eternal fellowship in heaven. The highest form we experience now is through making disciples—when we go, Christ’s authority works through us. Immanuel is real, powerful, and personal.
