80 Day Bible Reading Plan
Day 5/80 – God protecting Israel

Day 5/80 – God protecting Israel

As a ministry of Jeonju Antioch Church, AICF is following along with the main church’s 80-day Bible Reading Plan to close out 2020. Every day, follow along with the reading plan, a daily reflection, and meditation (writing in a spiritual journal) here on our website. We will be translating and using the main church’s plan from Korean to English here.

About the Reading

As most audio Bibles are an average of 75-hours in length, expect each daily reading to take between 45-60 minutes. For busy people who may not have time to sit down and read for that long, we will also provide links to audio versions, either on YouTube or elsewhere, that you can listen to throughout the day.

Day 5
Friday, October 16

Exodus 4-15

God protecting Israel

1. Pray

Lord! Always deliver me whenever and wherever. All the life I have lived is only by your grace, your love, and your blessings. Lead me whenever and wherever.

2. Key verses

  • Exodus 13:21-22 By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. 22 Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people.

3. Scripture Reading

Exodus 4-15

4. Reflection

The low, suffocating heat wave in the wilderness and resulting dizziness make you wander and lose your way. The temperature drops suddenly at night, causing unbearable cold weather. Due to the extremely dry nature of the wilderness, God’s pillar of clouds during the day helped the Israelites feel cool as soon as it blocked out the sunlight. The pillar of the fire at night was like a bonfire, so it was a heating device that prevented freezing. The pillar of cloud and pillar of fire was an active intervention of God in the wilderness and a great helping hand.

5. Writing a spiritual journal

After reading today’s text, write down the will of God that you came to realize, the passage that moved you, or what you decided to do and how you want to put it into practice.

6. Check off today’s reading on the reading table
